Served model: SigLIP2-B/16-384, crop-trained. Test macro-F1 0.9421 across 2,427 held-out images.
NutriScan names a dish only when the classifier's top score reaches the recognition gate of 0.50. On the held-out test set that leaves 5.1% of items marked unsure rather than guessed. Among the items it does name, a calibrated conformal check covers the true dish 97.6% of the time, and where two dishes are close it offers a second candidate as "X, possibly Y".
Foods outside the 17-dish menu are declined rather than guessed.
